VP Sales, Publishers

The VP of Sales, Publishers will identify, secure, and manage Truthset's business with the largest media companies in the world, focused on major digital publishers and walled gardens. An in-depth knowledge of the marketing and data ecosystem and its emerging trends is critical. This role requires both a hunter and a farmer mentality as the candidate will be responsible for driving the early stage growth within the publisher vertical. This role will initially be an independent contributor but as the vertical grows there will be an opportunity to grow a team of sellers. This individual will be commercial in function, and will be expected to translate and share client needs and requirements with our Product Management and Data Science teams. While the initial focus will be to grow publisher sales, this individual will likely be asked to drive sales across platforms, agencies and advertisers as well.

What You'll Do

-Collaborate with Sales leadership to develop an overall Publisher Sales Strategy

-Work with the Product team to clearly define value propositions for publisher prospects

-Build and own a pipeline of targets and prospects across a range of companies focusing initially on premium publishers, walled gardens, and publishers with scaled 1st party data

-Directly source deals using your own contacts and manage the lifecycle through close

-Ensure client success through management of deliverables to early clients

-Deliver against a revenue target through new business and existing business growth

What You'll Need

-8-10+ years building high value, long-term relationships in sales/BD positions

-Demonstrated success in building and growing revenue for SaaS, media and/or data companies

-Intellectual curiosity, coupled with strong analytical and evidence-based decision making skills

-A strong technical mind, able to grasp core technical concepts and understand and adapt to the needs of product, engineering and data science peers - whether in-house or client-side

-Exceptional project management, interpersonal and communication skills

Motivated self-starter who can be independently effective in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment

-Established industry-relevant contacts across the media ecosystem

-Experience in data sales and/or measurement solutions is preferred, but not required
